Visit to the Holy Land

In the early hours of Wednesday 24th April 2013 18 Pilgrims set off from Larkhall on 10 day visit to the Holy Land.

We were led by Rev Alastair McKillop who took us on a most amazing journey which started on the Mount of Olives and ended with Communion celebrated on the shores of the Sea of Galilee.  Tears, laughter, singing, prayers, reflection, and yes even dancing, made for a wonderful sense of close fellowship within the group.

We visited grand Churches, humble abodes, amazing palaces, floated in the Dead Sea, walked the via Dolorsa, and streets where Jesus and his disciples had walked, to see the scenes they would have seen and get a sense of what life had  been like for them was a privilege to have experienced.

We visited the Tabeetha School in Jaffa the Al Shurooq Blind School in Palestine and the port of Caesarea.  Nazareth village was amazing and has been made to look like it would have been in Biblical times.  Capernaum where we saw the ruins of Peter's House and sailed back to our hotel on the Sea of Galilee after celebrating Communion.

Unable to show all the photographs taken but below are just a few of some of the sights we saw.

It was a most awe inspiring trip.
