Intimations for Sunday 9th September
Vision Prayer Breakfast : the next Prayer Breakfast will take place this coming Saturday morning, 15th September. Breakfast will be served from 9.30a.m. and this will be followed by a time of prayer from 10a.m. A very warm invitation is extended to everyone to share in this time of prayer.
Scottish Deaf Choirs Festival : The Trustees of the Stewart Lochrie Memorial Fund are pleased to announce this year’s Festival will take place on Sunday 16th September at 2p.m. in Dalziel St Andrew’s Paich Church, 43-47 Merry Street, Motherwell. The Festival will be followed by a light tea. Entry is free and all are welcome.
Foodbank Donations : At a recent Kirk Session meeting it was suggested and agreed that a permanent box be placed in the vestibule for donations to the Larkhall Foodbank. When doing your weekly shopping, and if you are able, please pick up one or two extra items and drop them in the box on a Sunday morning. All donations will be most welcome, much appreciated and gratefully accepted.
Harvest Thanksgiving : This service will take place on Sunday 30th September. The Kirk Session, this year, have decided all gifts of food and produce be donated to Glasgow Lodging House Mission who provide food and support to homeless, vulnerable and socially excluded people. All monetary gifts will be donated to Glasgow City Mission, who, this year, are focusing on “Street Outreach Work” and hope to double the amount of time spent on the streets, providing practical Christian care in Jesus’ name.
The good folks of St Machan’s are well known for their Christian compassion and generosity. Please give what you can and in so doing you will be helping to transform the lives of those affected by homelessness and poverty in Glasgow.
