                Intimations for Sunday 30th September

 

Book Club : The next meeting of the book club is tomorrow, Monday 1st October at 10.30 at 14 Saltire Crescent. The book being discussed is The Light Between Oceans by M L Stedman. If you are interested in reading and enjoy a good discussion, then please come along and join our lively group.

 

Men’s Club : The next session of indoor bowls will be tomorrow, Monday 1st October, at 1.30p.m. in the Church Hall. A warm invitation is extended to all men of the congregation to come along and enjoy an afternoon of fun and fellowship.

 

Guild : The Guild begins its new session on Tuesday 2nd October at the usual time of 7.30p.m., when the guest speaker will be Dr Anne Jackson, a retired missionary. The committee look forward to welcoming back existing members and a very warm invitation is extended to all to come along and join us for a session of lively and interesting nights. Could members come a little earlier than usual to allow for registration. Capitation fees are £12.00.

 

Girls’ and Boys’ Brigade: The Rededication Family Service for both Companies will take place on Sunday 7th October at 11a.m. 

 

Notice from our Property Convenor : Our Church Health and safety Manual is currently being updated. In order to ensure that we have all up to date information, would all current First Aid certificate Holders please contact Walter Kean or John Gilroy as soon as possible.

 

Kirk Session : The next meeting of the Kirk Session will be held on Thursday 11th October at 7p.m in the Session House. Minutes of the last meeting and Convenors reports will be emailed to Elders this coming week with paper copies being available in the boxes of those Elders not on line, next Sunday.

 

Crossreach : Orders are now being taken for the 2019 Crossreach Circle of Care Calendars, which are priced at £5.00 for the wall calendar and £4.50 for the appointment calendar. Closing date for orders is Sunday 14th October and orders can be placed with Isobel Begley or by telephoning her on 01698 884027.

 

Food Bank Volunteers : The foodbank Management Team is looking for volunteers to cover the foodbank when it is open on Tuesdays 10.30am - 1.30pm and on Fridays 10.30am - 2.30pm. The current 10 week rota system means that volunteers generally work on 2/3 occasions during the 10 week period. Training is given to all new volunteers. Shoe Box Appeal : It’s that time of year again!  This year the appeal is celebrating 25 years of bringing some happiness to someone in need at Christmas. Please pick up a leaflet on the table situated in the Church, as you enter at the Chancel area. This will give details of the type of items with which to fill your shoebox.  Last year 115,932 shoeboxes were donated and distributed.
