Intimations for Sunday 23rd September
Men’s Club : The next session of indoor bowls will be tomorrow, Monday 24th September, at 1.30p.m. in the Church Hall. A warm invitation is extended to all men of the congregation to come along and enjoy an afternoon of fun and fellowship.
Harvest Thanksgiving : This service will take place next Sunday 30th September. The Kirk Session, this year, have decided all gifts of food and produce be donated to Glasgow Lodging House Mission who provide food and support to homeless, vulnerable and socially excluded people. All monetary gifts will be donated to Glasgow City Mission, who, this year, are focusing on “Street Outreach Work” and hope to double the amount of time spent on the streets, providing practical Christian care in Jesus’ name.
The good folks of St Machan’s are well known for their Christian compassion and generosity. Please give what you can and in so doing you will be helping to transform the lives of those affected by homelessness and poverty in Glasgow.
Guild : The Guild begins its new session on Tuesday 2nd October at the usual time of 7.30p.m., when the guest speaker will be Dr Anne Jackson, a retired missionary. The committee look forward to welcoming back existing members and a very warm invitation is extended to all to come along and join us for a session of lively and interesting nights. Could members come a little earlier than usual to allow for registration. Capitation fees are £12.00.
The Guild Committee is reminded of the committee meeting on Tuesday 25th September in the Guild Room, 7.15 for 7.30p.m.
Foodbank Donations : At a recent Kirk Session meeting it was suggested and agreed that a permanent box be placed in the vestibule for donations to the Larkhall Foodbank. When doing your weekly shopping, and if you are able, please pick up one or two extra items and drop them in the box on a Sunday morning. The Session Clerk has asked the Food Bank personnel she be notified if and when there is a particular need for specific items and will accordingly note these in the intimations.
All donations will be most welcome, much appreciated and gratefully accepted.
