Shoebox Appeal 2025:
September is always a busy month in our Church calendar and reminds us that  we have to start planning for our annual shoe box appeal early in order to get the boxes to their  destinations for December.
Since Blythswood Care started this appeal back in 1993, we have helped them send nearly three million boxes – each one different, each one personal, each one an expression of your care and kindness towards a stranger in need. Fitted with small, practical items such as toiletries, stationary, sweets and clothing, the individually wrapped boxes have been distributed in schools, hospitals, orphanages and care homes, and to households in very low income communities throughout third world countries.
Many this year again will be heading to people affected by the war in Ukraine as well as areas around the Middle East where so much unrest is taking place. Leaflets are now available around the Church at each exit. The final date for boxes has not yet been confirmed, but an intimation will be made as soon as we have an update from Blythswood. ( It’s usually end of October  )
Many thanks for all your kindness and generosity in the past and we look forward to another successful appeal this year. Your gift truly makes a difference.
If you would like any further information,  please see John Gilroy

CAN YOU HELP?:  We are looking for a volunteer to carry out general admin office tasks, printing and photocopying for the Church. This would suit someone who has a bit of spare time, who knows their way around a PC and can work excel spreadsheets. Training on how to use the office equipment will be given. The task is not onerous but an important job that needs to be done.
If you are able to help please contact Linda Turnbull (07866 454737) for further information.
