Christian aid Week : Today is the start of Christian Aid week. In the order of service there is an envelope you can use for your donation if you do not get a door to door collection. Filled envelopes can be placed in the jar at the back of the Church.
Book Club : The next meeting of the Book Club is tomorrow, Monday 13th May at 10.30a.m. at 14 Saltire Crescent. The book being reviewed is “The One Plus One” by Jo Jo Moyes.
Session Meeting : The Kirk Session will meet on Thursday 16th May at 7.00p.m. in the Session House. Minutes of the previous meetings have now been emailed to elders with paper copies in the boxes of those elders not on line.
Musical Extravaganza Evening - Friday 7th June : Many of you attended the wonderful, fundraising concert last June put on by Shonagh Murray and her theatre group, “Fearless Players”, to help with costs for their Edinburgh Festival debut. To show their appreciation, Shonagh and her friends wished to express their thanks by putting on another show for us, free of charge, with all proceeds, this time, going to the Church Hall Roof fund. You will remember, this concert was arranged for February this year but, due to illness, had to be cancelled. The new date set is Friday 7th June at 7.00p.m. and will be a night of music and song. Tickets priced £5.00, which include refreshments, are now available from any elder. If you didn’t manage to the last concert, you missed a real treat so please do come along and enjoy a wonderful night’s entertainment and give your support to both Shonagh and the Church Hall Roof Fund.
Elders Day Away at Braehead - Saturday 25th May : This is a time to build on the relationship amongst our Elders, with a relaxing time, in a place of calmness, where God’s hand can be seen in answered prayer and in the beauty of his creation. If any Elder has not already done so, then please now return your slip to John Kaprot indicating whether or not you are able to attend. This information is needed for catering numbers.
Dalserf Church Teas : Saturday Afternoon Teas have recommended at Dalserf Parish Church from 11th May – 31st August, 12 noon – 4.00p.m., with tea, coffee and home baking. A warm invitation is extended to all to drop in and enjoy some fellowship and delicious cakes.
Flower Rota : A blank Flower Rota for July – December is now on the notice board in the Guild Room and I am looking for your help in filling up the calendar. I am very grateful to those who already generously volunteer and hope you will continue to do so. We do need more volunteers though - the more there are the better. If you are able to take a turn, even if only for 1 Sunday, then please fill your name on the rota against the Sunday/s of your choice stating your preference as to supplying, delivering or both. By doing so you will help keep our Sanctuary beautiful on a Sunday morning but, more importantly, by delivering a bunch of flowers to those in our congregation and beyond in their time of greatest need or time of happy celebration you will be providing one of the most important pastoral care roles in the life of our Church.
