INTIMATIONS   21st July

Sunday 28th July : Morning Worship will be conducted by Mr Arthur Stewart.

Sunday 4th August : The second of our Joint Churches Summer Services will be      held in Trinity Church on 4th August at 11a.m. We had a lovely turn out from both Churches at the first of our services last week and it is hoped many of the folks from St Machan’s will be able to attend this second joint service.

Summer Short Walking Event :  “Walk with the Word: Exodus”

Hamilton Old Parish Drama Kirk presents a dramatized walk, bringing to life Moses and the Israelites wandering in the desert this summer. Experience the Exodus anew, from the Red Sea to the Promised Land, on an exciting journey. You will walk with some well-known bible characters and see dramatisations of temptations, trials and miracles.
The walk is less than a mile and the event will last an hour; but does include one steep incline. It takes place on Saturday 10th August in Chatelherault Country Park in Hamilton at 10am, Noon and 3pm. Tickets are free and are available through event britehttps://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/walk-with-the-word-exodus-tickets-62504971051

Guild Outing : The Guild autumn outing will be to Largs on Saturday, 31st August.  The cost is £20.00 and includes a three-course meal at the Bentley Hotel, Motherwell. Payment for the outing should be paid to either Nan McMahon or Liz Meek no later than Sunday, 28th July.

Could you notify Nan of any cancellations as early as possible please.  Thank you.

Calling all Golfers : Would you, as a member of St Machan’s, be interested in taking part in a Golf Tournament organised by Hamilton Presbytery and to be held in the Autumn of 2019 or Spring 2020 (venue still to be decided). The proposal is intended to foster friendships across the Presbytery with a degree of healthy competition, at the same time as enhancing its sense of corporate identity as a “Presbytery”. Estimated costs would be in the region of £45-£50 per person, which would include one round of golf and an after-competition meal. A trophy will be awarded to the Winning Team (to be retained for one year). A team, consisting of 4 players, from each congregation is invited to enter.

More than one team per congregation might be permitted, depending on the level of demand.  3 of our Elders have currently signed up and so a 4th member for that team is required. However, it may be that there are a number of golfers in the congregation interested and if that is the case then we might be in a position to have more than one team. If you are interested in this venture, please give your name to Bob Allan, St Machan’s Team Captain as soon as possible.
